I'm Daniel, an American photographer and lens reviewer for Lens & Shutter. I focus on the practical side of camera and lens choice: how a body handles in the field, how autofocus behaves with real subjects, which lenses make sense for a system, and where the spec sheet can mislead normal buyers. My work here centers on Nikon, Canon, Sony, Fujifilm, Micro Four Thirds, L-Mount, Sigma, and Tamron gear, with a particular focus on lens ecosystems and buying decisions. I look closely at mount compatibility, stabilization, autofocus reliability, focal-length overlap, used-market value, travel weight, and whether a lens or camera actually fits the photographer it is being recommended to. When I review or edit a buying guide, I try to answer the questions I would ask before spending my own money: what is the real upgrade, what is the compromise, what will become annoying after six months, and what cheaper option is good enough? My goal is to make Lens & Shutter's reviews useful for photographers who want clear, experience-based advice instead of a list of specs.
